The Sun has Came The Moon has Gone, by Amy Lommasson
The Sun has Came, The Moon has Gone is a collection of poems written by Amy Lommasson. These poems were written during her early teenage years during the late 1980’s and they reflect the mindset of a teenager in high school during that time. Being it is from the late 80's, it is dark and moody. We hope the contract of the illustrations showcase her lighter brighter side! She never had the opportunity to share her written work for others to read, but now her family was able to publish her work with her vision in mind on how she would have wanted to showcase her work for others.
The Sun has Came The Moon has Gone is available now.
A Little Bit About Amy
Amy’s first poem was written in 1982 when she was only 8 years old and continued until 1990, a short period of time of creativity. Her collection of poems reflects her creative writing of thoughts and memories expressed as a teenager.
Amy was always self-confident, determined, and willing to march to the beat of her own drum. She once purposely failed a math class because she didn’t like the teacher, only to retake it during the summer and pass with an A!
“It was worth it,” she said.
Amy was not only a creative writer but a dancer as well, embracing all sides of art from the mind to movement. She was a beautiful dancer in ballet, tap and modern, competitively, and just for fun! Her creativity seemed effortless and done with ease. She expresses this throughout her poems.
Her poems have not been edited – the poems are raw, with intentional typos – because that’s how it poured out of her, and she didn’t have spellcheck!
This book was always here, written pages placed in a spiral notebook, but her work should be more than pages in a spiral notebook. Her poems deserve to be shared with others, to be printed and published. It has taken over 30 years to bring her book to the public, but we are excited to share this with you!
This book is dedicated to our parents, Allen & Annette, her niece Chelsea, her nephews Jakob & Jared, her brother-in-law Julio, and myself her older sister, Jennifer.
Most of all this book is dedicated to Amy.
Amy is with us always as a daughter, an aunt, a sister-in-law, and my baby sister… Now she’s also a published author.
