The Albanians of Inwood; The Story of an Arberesh Community in America, By Trotta Louis

This is the story of how one group of Italo-Albanian immigrants overcame poverty and prejudice in the New World and helped to establish a close-knit and diverse American community in Inwood on New York's Long Island. This work examines how these "Arberesh" settlers drew strength from their shared language, culture, and religious beliefs, defied a centuries-old legacy of Albanian displacement, and made a lasting contribution to the American experience.
